On-set photos from The Walking Dead season 3, of Andrew Lincoln, Laurie Holden, Danai Gurira, David Morrissey, Chandler Riggs, Greg Nicotero and more!
If you especially dig the mind-blowing special effects that The Walking Dead co-executive producer Greg Nicotero and his team pull off for every episode, you should love these just-released, behind-the-scenes season 3 photos of the cast and crew. Within this set you can see T-Dog being transformed into the walker victim he became and Hershel, seconds after his lower-leg amputation due to a walker bite (gruesome!)
There are lots of shots of Nicotero with the cast showing them the techniques they need to employ to make a machete to the skull for example, look real.
Wonder how Michonne’s ‘pet’s,’ armless torsos looked so realistic? Take a look below at the extensive makeup and the prosthetics they are wearing. Their blue arms will be made invisible and the stumps will be CG-ed in.
One of the most visually arresting sets was the Governor’s hideaway where he kept both his zombie daughter, Penny, and fish tanks full of heads–both walker and human. There are three photos here of the heads-in-a-fishtank including them being set up by Nicotero, a shot with Michonne and one of the Governor as he destroys them. Fun times!
Want to find out what went into the making of Season 3 of The Walking Dead? Now you can, thanks to these all-new behind-the-scenes photos. Check out images of Andrew Lincoln (Rick) learning to use a machete and IronE Singleton (T-Dog) getting made up to be devoured by a zombie. You can even see Co-Executive Producer Greg Nicotero filling the Governor’s walker head aquariums.
