Tricia Helfer Talks Her New ABC Series ‘Killer Women’ #killerwomen #BSG @trutriciahelfer @MichaelTrucco

The Tricia Helfer, Texas Ranger-themed ‘Killer Women’, which features fellow BSG alum Michael Trucco, was just picked by ABC TV for the 2013-14 season.

Though you may have missed the announcement as pickups and cancellations for the networks have been released to the press in quick succession over the past couple of days, Tricia Helfer, who I best know and appreciate for playing the many permutations of Cylon “Six’ in Battlestar Galactica, will be starring in “Killer Women’ on the ABC network this fall.

NOTE: For many years, I’ve followed both Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackoff  (and sometimes, Michael Trucco) on this blog’s ‘sister’ blog, Forever A Fangirl. Here’s one article I put together about  one of the former Battlestar Galactica actors’ charity projects.

I’m so excited as this is Tricia’s first American series’ lead. I’ll be happy to see the hunky Trucco again, too. Can’t wait to see Katee Sackoff guest star <fingers crossed she has the time!>

Tricia Helfer Talks Lifetime Movie, Playing a Killer Woman on ABC

TVF: The description of your character, Molly, in Killer Women is ‘ballsy and a beautiful badass.’

TH: [laughs] I was drawn immediately to the script. I loved Molly. She’s got something hidden and she’s definitely got some damage hidden. She grew up on a ranch by the local sheriff and there were a lot of parallels to my own life. She’s a tomboy, I grew up on a farm in Alberta, Canada. In the script, Molly was Miss Texas in 1992 and I won the Ford Models’ World in 1992. There’s a photo of my character [in the pilot] but that’s me. All we had to do was add on a crown and a sash.
I just felt a real connection with the character. She is ballsy and it was really fun and it was really fun to meet a real Texas Ranger, who was our tech advisor. It’s a fun, stylized procedural but it’s character driven and it’s about Killer Women, it’s based on [the Argentine series] Mujeres Asesinas. I had a blast playing it and I couldn’t ask for a better cast and crew. It was so fun…

TVF: And Michael Trucco is playing your brother, which is something of a BSG reunion.

TH: Of course, we worked together on BSG and he’s a good friend of mine personally, he and his wife. It’s great when you look at a friend or a past co-worker and you never think that you look like you would be related but when he got cast in it and we did a scene together and I saw us on the playback I went ‘Man! We actually..
look like we could be siblings.

[Trucco] is… a great guy and the scene that we had together…you need to have a closeness and an awareness of each other but knowing each other very well personally helped that.

We shot it on the first day so it was nice that Michael and I already had a history that we could draw from and didn’t have to make it up.

I think this is inspired casting! After all they were siblings (of a nature) once before. More importantly, Trucco & Helfer are biker buddies/friends offscreen (see article excerpt–above); they have a connection that other actors wouldn’t have. And lets face it: They are both gorgeous. I wish they’d let them smile more on BSG. Hopefully, they will more in their new show!/end fangirling

Exclusive: Battlestar‘s Michael Trucco Reunites With Tricia Helfer on ABC’sKiller Women Pilot

I hope this is a good show as I like Trucco and Helfer (obviously). Not aware of the rest of the cast. Hope it is good and gets a decent run.

ABC’s Killer Women will host a killer Battlestar Galactica reunion, now that Michael Trucco has boarded the Tricia Helfer-fronted drama pilot.

Based on the Argentine series Mujeres Asesinas, the project follows Molly Parker, the only woman among the notoriously male Texas Rangers. Described as a ballsy, beautiful badass, Molly knows how to get to the truth and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers to do so.

Trucco will play Molly’s older brother, Billy, who is married to her BFF Nessa (played by Marta Milans). The actor’s recent TV credits include arcs on Revenge, How I Met Your Mother and Castle, and a co-starring role on USA Network’s Fairly Legal. Also new to the Killer Women ensemble, which also previously cast Mark Blucas (Necessary Roughness) as Molly’s boyfriend, is Alex Fernandez (Commander in Chief), playing Molly’s coworker Luis.

Please note. Charlie Hunnam is NOT pictured as he is on location filming another project. Another photo session is scheduled for this week coming in which he will participate. The guy you see in the out takes is a Charlie Hunnam “double.” If you have enjoyed FX publicity photos for previous seasons of Sons Of Anarchy, you’ve probably noticed that they can be highly stylized, meaning it would not be terribly noticeable to the average person that Charlie had been Photoshopped in later.

‘It Will Be Much Scarier Than Last Season’

Evan Peters interviews about American Horror Story: Coven which returns this fall to FX.

Evan Peters interviews about American Horror Story: Coven which returns this fall to FX.

The premiere of American Horror Story: Coven isn’t until this fall, but Evan Peters — who played the sympathetic character Kit Walker in “AHS: Asylum”  in contrast to the psychotic Tate Langdon in Chapter (Season) One of the FX series — can’t wait for the third season shooting to get underway.

Evan Peters ‘American Horror Story’ (FX) VIDEO Interview

“I’m excited. I think it’s gonna be really scary — much scarier than last season — and it’s gonna be fun. It’s going to be really fun to shoot. I’m recharged and ready to go this round,” Peters told Golden Derby during a Google Hangout interview.

Series co-creator Ryan Murphy is staying tight-lipped about most of the details. Peters admitted even he doesn’t know much else about “American Horror Story: Coven.”

“I just know I’ll be working with Taissa [Farmiga] again. Kathy Bates is going to be in this season,” he said. “Jessica Lange’s back, Sarah Paulson‘s back and it takes place in New Orleans … I’m scared, but I’m excited.”

With Season 3 centering on witches and witch hunts, “AHS” fans can’t wait to see what Bates will bring to the table … but the actress doesn’t know much more than Peters does.

“I don’t know [my character will be like] ’til I’ve gotten in and walked around in her shoes, but I’m awfully excited,” she said in March.

Gabourey Sidibe has joined American Horror Story: Coven (season 3) on FX.

The Oscar-nominated actress is joining the cast of American Horror Story: Coven, series co-creator Ryan Murphy recently announced on Twitter.

She joins returning AHS ‘ acting troupe’ members Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Taissa Farmiga, in addition to veteran screen actress Kathy Bates, who is playing what Murphy has called “a bad, bad woman,” someone “five times worse than [her] Misery character — which is why she liked it.”
